Carini (Latin: Hyccara) is a town and comune in the Province of Palermo, Sicily, 13 miles by rail WNW of Palermo. It has a population of 25,752.
On the coast are some ruins of the ancient Hyccara, the only Sican settlement (probably a fishing village) on the coast. It was stormed and taken by the Athenians in 415 BC, and the inhabitants, among them the famous courtesan Lais, sold as slaves. At La Grazia Christian catacombs have been found. Balestrate (Sicilian: Sicciara) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Palermo in the Italian region Sicily, located about 35 km southwest of Palermo. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 5,853 and an area of 3.9 km².
Located in Western Sicily, on the rail line between Palermo and Trapani, Balestrate is exactly in the center of the Gulf of Castellamare. In previous times it was where much of the grape crop was grown for the island's famous Marsala wine. Today Balestrate's main industry is fishing and tourism. A small town of nearly 6000 most of the year, Balestrate's population swells up to almost 30,000 during the Summer season with vacationing Europeans and Italians from the colder climates seeking the warm water and sun. Poggioreale (Sicilian: Poggiuriali) is a small town in Sicily, Italy, set on the Belice valley, which administratively belongs to the province of Trapani.

Vita, Sicily

Vita is a town in inland South-Western Sicily, Italy, administratively part of the province of Trapani. It is the smallest municipality area of the province of Trapani (8.88 km² circa). It is also characterized by the second highest altitude in the province, after Erice.
The town was founded in the early 17th century, under the Spaniards, by a noble from Calatafimi, Vito Sicomo. The birth of the township was then ratified by King Philip III of Spain on March 11, 1607.
In 1860, the town gave its full support to the |Mille led by Giuseppe Garibaldi. In the arly 1900s, the city reached its highest population, with 6,000 inhabitants circa. More recently, its inhabitants have slowly left the town in order to move towards Northern Italy and foreign countries, with possibly its largest emigrant community located in Toronto. All the dive-sites will be reached in less than 20 minutes: drop-offs, grottoes, shore-dives, offshore-dives.. We make night-dives and cave-dives. We go out with different boats (zodiac or fiberglass). And the best off all: since 2006 our dive spots are all situated in a nature reserve, controlled by WWF. In the 2002 for the review "Theatre and Dance".
To the Biennial of Venice 2002 they have collaborated with Scimeca and Roberta Torre. They have prepared the scenes of the show "Palermo can Wait" of Ciprì and Maresco, it has been on competition to the Biennial of Venice.

Alcamo was founded in 828 by the Muslim commander al-Kamuk (after whom it is named), though other sources date its origin to c. 972. The original Christian settlement, definitively abandoned in the 14th century, was located where remains of a tower and a water reservoir (Funtanazza) can be seen in the neighbourhood.
